We have probably mentioned this one before but we are mentioning it again as it is so iconic to Bala. Why not take a railway trip from Bala to Llanuwchllyn on this old steam train which has fabulous views of the lake and mountains nearby – an experience like no other.

This state-of-the-art education centre is great for the family and gives both parents and children the opportunity to discover the story of Mary Jones and Thomas Charles and the impact of the world’s best selling book! We won’t tell you too much so you can discover for yourself next time you fancy a visit.
Bala Cinema & Theatre
Unlike your commercial cinema, Bala Cinema and Theatre oozes charm from the roadside. Although quirky, the cinema has the latest digital cinema technology, but why not jazz it up in a different setting to see the next blockbuster movie. The cinema was originally built in the 1890’s and not only shows the latest films but also live streams of theatre productions from the National Theatre.Great for movie enthusiasts and lovers of art.
Encaustic Art Workshop
Speaking of art, why not pop on over to the encaustic art workshop. You don’t necessarily need to be an artist to have a go and it’s something that can be enjoyed by anyone and everyone. You can then end your day with a piece of artwork that you created that can take pride of place at home.
