Holiday parks in Bala give you the freedom to explore the natural beauty of Wales. Pale Wood is located on the edge of the stunning Snowdonia National Park, within 43 acres of private and lush woodland. This area is renowned for its impressive snow peaked mountain range and abundance of walking paths to suit every level of fitness.

It’s getting a lot chillier outside, but that shouldn’t prevent you from exploring the fantastic Snowdonia landscape. If you’re staying at our holiday park this December, make sure to bring your winter woollies.

Snowdonia becomes incredibly busy during the winter season, with avid walkers and mountain climbers keen to reach the top of its many snowy peaks. Snowdon, in particular, is an incredibly popular mountain for snowy walking. If you’d prefer to stay on ground level, there are plenty of leisurely winter walks for you to try around Bala.

Holiday Parks in BalaTake a walk along Bala Lake, which to the welsh locals is known as ‘Llyn Tegid’. The full walk is 14 miles long; however this can be made shorter through the use of personal and public transport. You’ll see a variety of landscapes along the way, including forest, farmland and moorland.

There’s still plenty of wildlife to be spotted near Snowdonia during the winter months. Bala Lake is host to a wide range of wildlife and flora year round, and is even a ‘Site of Special Scientific Interest’. If you’re lucky, you may be able to catch a glimpse of the otters at Bala Lake. There’s a good chance you’ll see some buzzards circling the lake, most likely looking for a bite to eat!

Having a trip on the Bala Lake Railway allows you to see these beautiful sights in comfort. It’s also a quite unique experience, as they use traditional narrow gauge steam trains to take you along the lake. They’ve also got a special Santa Train event on between December 10th -11th this year. If you’re bringing along small children, this magical event will be sure to make their holiday that extra bit special.
